Tension & Elongation
Relation between tension and elongation is important in many fields, like textile industry or adhesive industry. Tahma Mk I has an option for combined testing tension and elongation of various 1D materials.
The test can also be applied for compression tests, in which the stage movement direction is simply switched to the opposite direction.
Testing Process
The material under investigation is fixed from one end to the sample stage and from the other end to the sensor measurement tip. The test begins from the level where no tension or compression is applied, after which tension or compression is applied with user-defined rate.
